Student Privacy and Confidentiality

Counselors respect student’s right to privacy and will keep student information confidential. There are a few exceptions to confidentiality. Exceptions include:
- information requested by parent or guardian for minor students
- student discusses wanting to harm self or others
- neglect or physical and mental abuse
- counselor has signed parent permission to consult with another professional
- legal situations in which case the counselor will defer to district administration
