Thank you, Academy ISD voters, for approving the May bond proposition. Our community is growing, and this bond will allow us to accommodate growth and expand opportunities for Academy ISD students. Although the vote is over, the work is just beginning. The Board of Trustees and I commit to be good stewards of your tax dollars as we move forward with construction.
While College basketball is having March Madness, AMS is hosting Book Madness! 32 books from the state reading lists are competing to see which book is the most popular! Students have the opportunity to fill out a bracket and vote each week to see if they can predict the most popular book! Vote for your favorites as well! The winning student will get a prize!
The USDA has extended its current free meals for all students waiver through the end of the 20-21 school year. For AISD that means through the last day of school in May!
The votes are in! AMS t-shirt designs for 2020-2021:
These shirts were created by AMS students! We will be taking orders starting in August.
On May 3, 2003 school district voters approved (by a three to one margin) a $6.8 million dollar bond issue to finance the construction of a new middle school. The 1925 Academy Consolidated High School building, which served as the middle school, had served its students and community well. A school building is much more than bricks and mortar; it is the collection of memories, friendships made, and life lessons learned therein that are much more important. The new Academy Middle School was opened in 2004. We are very proud of this educational facility and we appreciate the community for making it possible.
